Orlando, FL -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/06/2015 -- 8th graders from Conway Middle school in Orlando, FL were recently given an opportunity for some hands on legal experience, as they held a mock trial in The Umansky Law Firm's Courtroom. Students from the middle school's legal studies program played out every detail and even had a bailiff present to keep order in the courtroom.

This was the first time The Umansky Law Firm hosted this type of event. "It was great to see these kids take it so seriously", said Managing Partner William Umansky. After seeing how much the students enjoyed the trial, he is looking to expand and work with more schools going forward.

The teachers at Conway Middle school taught the students how to develop a case, write questions and give statements, handle objections and deal with witnesses. The program has not only helped students improve their knowledge of the law, but also their public speaking, critical thinking and presentation skills.

The Umansky Law Firm is actively involved in the community and jumps at the chance to help local schools. By opening up their office doors, they give students exposure to the legal industry and professional work environment. The firm also teams up with Evans High School in Orlando and offers part time internships for students who are looking to pursue a career as an attorney or paralegal.
